Ilson Paranhos Pasqualino

Ilson Paranhos Pasqualino graduated as a Naval Engineer in February 1989 by the Federal University of Rio de Janeiro. In March 1990, he joined the Graduate School of the same University, where he completed his Master's Degree in Ocean Sciences in April 1993. He continued his studies at COPPE / UFRJ, where he received a PhD in Sciences in Oceanic Engineering, in October 1998. His main areas of interest are: experimental tests for the qualification of subsea and well completion equipment, structural integrity analysis with focus on fatigue and limit resistance and the use of non-metallic materials for naval and offshore engineering applications. He is currently Associate Professor at the Polytechnic School of UFRJ and coordinator of the Petroleum Engineering course, Full Professor at COPPE / UFRJ for the Ocean Engineering Department and coordinator of the experimental area of Subsea Technology Laboratory at COPPE/UFRJ. He is a member of the Subsea Technology Committee of the International Ship and Offshore Structures Congress and a member of the Standing Committee of the Congress Practical Design of Ships and Other Structures.

Ilson Paranhos Pasqualino graduou-se Engenheiro Naval em fevereiro de 1989 pela Univerisdade Federal do Rio de Janeiro. Em março de 1990, ingressou na Escola de Pós-Graduação da mesma Universidade, onde concluiu o Mestrado em Ciências Oceânicas em abril de 1993. Ele continuou seus estudos na COPPE/UFRJ, onde recebeu o grau de Doutor em Ciências em Engenharia Oceânica, em Outubro de 1998. Suas principais áreas de interesse são: testes experimentais para qualificação de equipamentos submarinos e de completação de poços, análise de integridade estrutural com foco em fadiga e resistência limite e a utilização de materiais não-metálicos para aplicações em engenharia naval e offsore. Atualmente é Professor Associado da Escola Politécnica da UFRJ e coordenador do curso de Engenharia de Petróleo, Professor Pleno da COPPE/UFRJ pelo Programa de Engenharia Oceânica e coordenador da área experimental do Laboratório de Tecnologia Submarina da COPPE/UFRJ. Atua como membro do comitê de Tecnologia Submarina do "International Ship and Offshore Structures Congress" e como membro do ?Standing Committee? do congresso ?Practical Design of Ships and Other Structures?.
