Biologist by Federal University of Minas Gerais (1993), Specialist in Botany by Federal University of Paraiba (1995), Master in Agronomy/Plant Physiology by Federal University of Lavras (1998), PhD in Agronomy/Crop Science by Federal University of Ceara (2003), Post Doctor in Plant Biotechnology by Cornell University, New York (2012). Researcher level A at the Brazilian Agricultural Research Corporation (Embrapa) since 2004. Works on Cellular Biology and Plant Tissue Culture applying methods of Biotechnology on studies with Amazon native species and other crops of economic interest to Amazon region. Leader of the Plant Biotechnology Research Group registered at the National Council for Scientific and Technological Development (CNPq). Established and coordinates the Laboratory of Plant Tissue Culture at Embrapa Rondônia since 2007. Professor and supervisor in the Masters Course and Doctorate in Regional Development and Environment at the Federal University of Rondonia since 2007. Editor of the journal Revista de Desenvolvimento e Ambiente Amazônico. International articulator in the Amazonian Territories Network with CIRAD/Montpellier, France.

Atua na área de Biologia Celular e Cultura de Tecidos Vegetais, aplicando métodos da biotecnologia em estudos com espécies florestais nativas da Amazônia e outras culturas de interesse econômico para a região. Líder do Grupo de Pesquisa em Biotecnologia Vegetal no CNPq. Implantou e coordena o Laboratório de Cultura de Tecidos Vegetais na Embrapa Rondônia desde 2007. Professor, orientador e membro do Colegiado do Programa de Pós-Graduação (Mestrado e Doutorado) em Desenvolvimento Regional e Meio Ambiente da Universidade Federal de Rondônia. Articulador internacional na Rede Territórios Amazônicos junto ao CIRAD/Montpellier, França.
