Murilo Mendonça Oliveira de Souza

Graduated in Veterinary Medicine from the Federal University of Uberlândia (UFU) and in Geography from the Catholic University of Uberlândia (2009), master's degree in Geography from the Federal University of Uberlândia (2004) and doctorate in Geography from the Federal University of Uberlândia (2011). Participated in the MAST Agricultural Education program at the University of Minnesota in the United States (2000-2001) and in the Improvement Course in Agroecology and Sustainable Rural Development at the University of Berkeley (2006). He is currently professor of the Full Degree Course in Geography and the Postgraduate Programs (Stricto Sensu) in Geography (PPGEO-UEG) and Natural Resources of the Cerrado (RENAC) at the State University of Goiás (UEG / Goiás). He is a member of the Brazilian Association of Agroecology (ABA) and has experience in the area of ​​Agrarian Geography and Agroecology, acting mainly on the following themes: socio-environmental impacts of pesticides, agroecology, agrarian issue, social movements, peasantry, rural education, cerrado, susteinable agri-food systems.

Atualmente é professor do Curso de Licenciatura Plena em Geografia e dos Programas de Pós-Graduação (Stricto Sensu) em Geografia (PPGEO-UEG) e Recursos Naturais do Cerrado (RENAC) da Universidade Estadual de Goiás (UEG/Goiás). É membro da Associação Brasileira de Agroecologia (ABA) e tem experiência na área de Geografia Agrária e Agroecologia, atuando principalmente nos seguintes temas: impactos socioambientais dos agrotóxicos, agroecologia, questão agrária, movimentos sociais, campesinato, educação do campo, cerrado, sistema agroalimentar.
