José Augusto Perrotta

Engenheiro de Fortificação e Construção pelo Instituto Militar de Engenharia (1977), mestre em Engenharia Nuclear pelo Instituto Militar de Engenharia (1980) e doutor em Tecnologia Nuclear pela Universidade de São Paulo (1999). Tecnologista Sênior da Comissão Nacional de Energia Nuclear (CNEN) aposentado em junho de 2022, tendo exercido várias funções de gestão e coordenação dentre as principais a de Diretor de Pesquisa e Desenvolvimento da CNEN e a de Coordenador Técnico do Empreendimento Reator Multipropósito Brasileiro (RMB). Trabalhou como especialista na Agência Internacional de Energia Atômica (IAEA) e como inspetor de salvaguardas e Oficial de Apoio Técnico da Agência Brasileiro Argentina de Contabilidade e Controle de Material Nuclear (ABACC). Principais áreas de atuação: engenharia do núcleo de reatores nucleares, engenharia do combustível nuclear, reatores de pesquisa, reatores de potência tipo PWR, desempenho sob irradiação do combustível nuclear, gestão de empreendimentos nucleares, gestão e coordenação de grupos multidisciplinares de pesquisa e engenharia.

Engineer of Fortification and Construction from the Instituto Militar de Engenharia (1977), MSc in Nuclear Engineering from the Instituto Militar de Engenharia (1980) and PhD in Nuclear Technology from the University of São Paulo (1999). Senior Technologist at the National Nuclear Energy Commission (CNEN) retired in June 2022, having performed several management and coordination functions, among the main ones as Director of Research and Development at CNEN and Technical Coordinator of the Brazilian Multipurpose Reactor Project (RMB). He has worked as a specialist at the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) and as a Safeguards Inspector and Technical Support Officer at the Brazilian-Argentine Agency for Accounting and Control of Nuclear Material (ABACC). Main areas of expertise: nuclear reactor core engineering, nuclear fuel engineering, research reactors, PWR-type power reactors, performance of nuclear fuel under irradiation, management of nuclear projects, management and coordination of multidisciplinary research and engineering groups.
