Gasperim Ramalho de Souza

Gasperim Ramalho de Souza holds a PhD in Language Studies from the Federal and Technological Center of Minas Gerais (CEFET-MG), a Master's degree in Linguistic Studies from UFMG (POSLIN/FALE), an Expert in English Language Teaching (UFMG), a Specialist in Special and Inclusive Education (UNINTER), a degree in Letters (English) from the Faculty of Letters (FALE) of UFMG. He is currently Adjunct Professor of the Department of Language Studies (SLI) of the Federal University of Lavras (UFLA), member of the Brazilian Association of Black Researchers (ABPN) and the Association of Applied Linguistics of Brazil (ALAB), coordinator of the Zacimba Gaba Amefrican Studies Group (GEAZ). Currently, he participates as a representative of Policies and Equity, Diversity and Inclusion (EDI) in the Teaching, Research and Extension Council (CEPE) at UFLA. In addition, he served as Pedagogical Coordinator of the English Without Borders Program (ISF) of the Language Teaching Center (DRI/NUCLi) of UFLA and in teaching English in public schools for more than 15 years. His main research interests are: learning styles, multiple intelligences, inclusion, complexity, critical literacy, linguistic policies, ethnic-racial relations and training of English teachers working in public schools and decoloniality.

Gasperim Ramalho de Souza é Doutor em Estudos de Linguagens pelo Centro Federal e Tecnológico de Minas Gerais (CEFET-MG), mestre em Estudos Linguísticos pela UFMG (POSLIN /FALE), especialista em Ensino de Língua Inglesa (UFMG), especialista em Educação Especial e Inclusiva (UNINTER), graduado em Letras (Inglês) pela Faculdade de Letras (FALE) da UFMG. Atualmente, é Professor Adjunto do Departamento de Estudos da Linguagem (DEL) da Universidade Federal de Lavras (UFLA), membro da Associação Brasileira de Pesquisadores Negros (ABPN) e da Associação de Linguística Aplicada do Brasil (ALAB), líder do Grupo de Pesquisa em Estudos Amefricanos Zacimba Gaba (GEAZ/UFLA/CNPq). Atua como Editor Adjunto da Revista Letra Magna (IFSP) e parecerista da Revista Acta Scientarium ( EDUEM). Além disso, atua como Coordenador Geral do Centro de Idiomas da UFLA . Seus principais interesses de pesquisa são: estilos de aprendizagem, inteligências múltiplas, inclusão, complexidade, letramento crítico, políticas linguísticas, relações étnico-raciais e formação de professores de inglês para a escola pública e decolonialidade.
