Peter Wolf is a German neurologist who dedicated his entire career to epilepsy, in which he was always supported by his Danish wife, Jytte. From 1985-2003 he was Medical Director of the Bethel Epilepsy Centre in Bielefeld but moved then to Denmark into a joint position at the Danish Epilepsy Centre Dianalund and Copenhagen University, as professor in epileptology. One of the leading international epileptologists, he was from 2005-2009 President of the International League against Epilepsy (ILAE). Among his distinctions is the European Epileptology Award of 2002 from the Commission on European Affairs of the ILAE which provided the seed funds for the Foundation (Prof. Dr. Peter and Jytte Wolf Foundation for Epilepsy - www.epilepsiestiftung-wolf.de). He is Special Visiting Professor - Fellowship in Brazil - Science Without Borders Program - Project MEC/MCTI/CAPES/CNPq/FAPs - Process No. 88881.030478/2013-01 - affiliated to the Programa de Pós-Graduação em Ciências Médicas - PPGCM/CCS/UFSC, since 2014.
