Ana Paula Bortoleto

Ana Paula Bortoleto is a civil engineer by training (2003, State University of Campinas) with a Master of Engineering degree (2006, the University of Tokyo), a PhD in Environmental Engineering (2009, the University of Tokyo), and a Habilitation degree in Design (2020, University of Sao Paulo). She has worked as a research fellow at the University of Sheffield (2011, EU FP7 Marie Curie Fellowship) and the Max-Planck Institute for Human Development (2013, Alexander von-Humboldt Fellowship). In June 2022, she took the Associate Professor position in the Department of Infrastructure and Environment at the University of Campinas. Her work is concerned with understanding pro-environmental behaviour and waste generation by focusing on everyday life routines and the socio-technical systems that shape them. The research engages with psychological theories, life cycle assessment, science and technology studies, and literature on the structures and processes of governing. Her research covers waste prevention, climate change, sustainability and environmental, economic and social impacts of waste management.

Engenheira civil pela Universidade Estadual de Campinas, com mestrado e doutorado pela Universidade de Tóquio em Engenharia Urbana e Ambiental, e livre-docência em Design pela Universidade de São Paulo (FAUUSP). Trabalhou como pesquisadora associada no Departamento de Geografia da Universidade de Sheffield (2011, EU FP7 Marie Curie Fellow) e no Instituto Max-Planck para Desenvolvimento Humano (2013, Alexander von Humboldt Fellow). Premiada em 2011 com o Green Talents Award pelo Ministério Federal de Educação e Pesquisa Alemão (BMBF) por sua atuação acadêmica no tema da sustentabilidade. É autora do livro Waste Prevention Policy and Behaviour (2015) da série Routledge Studies in Waste Management and Policy. Atualmente, é professora associada do Departamento de Infraestrutura e Ambiente da Universidade Estadual de Campinas, sendo responsável pela área de gestão de resíduo sólido. Credenciada no Programa de Doutorado em Ambiente e Sociedade - NEPAM/Unicamp e no Programa de Pós-Graduação em Arquitetura, Tecnologia e Cidade - FEC/Unicamp. Coordena o Grupo de Pesquisa Interdisciplinar em Resíduo Sólido - GIRes (http://dgp.cnpq.br/dgp/espelhogrupo/642628), atuando principalmente nos seguintes temas: prevenção de resíduo sólido, comportamento pró-ambiental, análise de ciclo de vida e gestão integrada de resíduo sólido. Atualmente é coordenadora do Programa de Doutorado em Ambiente e Sociedade - NEPAM/Unicamp. É assessora ad-hoc da FAPESP, CAPES e revisora periódicos nacionais e internacionais. É membro da Marie Curie Alumni Association (MCAA) Brazil Chapter e do Clube Humboldt do Brasil.
