Felipe Barreto Schuch

Graduated in physical education from the Federal University of Rio Grande do Sul (2008). He obtained his master's (2011) and PhD (2015) degree in Medical Sciences: Psychiatry from the Federal University of Rio Grande do Sul. He is currently an adjunct professor at the Federal University of Santa Maria (UFSM). Coordinator of the research group on physical exercise and mental health at UFSM. Master's advisor in the Postgraduate Program of Movement and Rehabilitation Sciences (UFSM). Dr. Schuch is a member of the Depression Lifestyle Medicine Task Force of the World Federation of Societies of Biological Psychiatry and the International Society for Bipolar Disorders (ISBD) Task Force on Nutrition and Exercise. He was listed as one of the highly cited authors in the field of psychology and psychiatry in 2020, 2021, and 2022 in the Clarivate/Web of Science list. He is currently associate editor of the Jornal Brasileiro de Psiquiatria (JBP) and Mental Health and Physical Activity journals, and he is a member of the editorial board of the Revista Brasileira de Psiquiatria (RBP).

Possui graduação em licenciatura plena em educação física (2008) e mestrado (2011) e doutorado (2015) em Ciências Médicas: Psiquiatria pela Universidade Federal do Rio Grande do Sul. Atualmente é professor adjunto da Universidade Federal de Santa Maria (UFSM). Coordenador do grupo de pesquisa em exercício físico e saúde mental da UFSM. Orientador nos Programas de Pós-graduação em Ciências do Movimento e Reabilitação (UFSM) e de Psiquiatria e Saúde Mental (UFRJ) .Membro da força tarefa em medicina do estilo de vida para depressão da World Federation of Societies of Biological Psychiatry e da força tarefa em exercício físico e nutrição para o transtorno do humor bipolar da International Society for Bipolar Disorders. Listado como um um dos autores mais citados na área "Psicologia e psiquiatria" nos anos de 2020, 2021 e 2022 na lista da Clarivate/Web of Science. Listado pelo researcher.com, na segunda posição no Brasil no "2022 Rising Star of Science Award" para todas as áreas do conhecimento. É atualmente editor associado do Jornal Brasileiro de Psiquiatria (JBP), da Frontiers in Psychiatry e do Mental Health and Physical Activity e membro do corpo editorial da Revista Brasileira de Psiquiatria (RBP).
