Gabriela Semensato Ferreira

Graduada em Letras - Licenciatura em inglês, português e respectivas literaturas - pela Universidade Federal do Rio Grande do Sul, Mestra em Letras (Literatura Comparada) e Doutora em Letras, Estudos Literários, pela mesma universidade. Participa do grupo de pesquisa Estudos de Poéticas do Presente, liderado por Rita Lenira de Freitas Bittencourt e Débora Cota. É membra associada da Associação Brasileira de Literatura Comparada (ABRALIC) no ano de 2021. Desenvolve estudos principalmente nas áreas de Literatura Comparada, Teoria Literária e Literaturas Estrangeiras Modernas. Busca investigar relações entre a literatura e outras artes, em especial trabalhos artísticos audioverbovisuais modernos e contemporâneos, que envolvam escrita, fotografia, desenho, performance, etc. Também tem grande interesse pela autorreflexividade desses trabalhos, em que se podem ver as conexões entre sua linguagem e seu pensamento, como a reflexão sobre a própria prática artística, incluindo o fazer do escritor.

I have a Teaching degree in English and Portuguese Languages and Literatures from the Federal University of Rio Grande do Sul, in Brazil, as well as a Master's degree in Comparative Literature and a PhD in Literary Studies from the same university. I'm part of a research group called Studies of the Poetics of the Present, led by Rita Lenira de Freitas Bittencourt e Débora Cota. My research is connected to the areas of Comparative Literature, Literary Theory and works written or produced in foreign languages, such as English, Spanish and French. I seek to investigate the relations between literature and other arts, especially artistic works which mix sound, words and images, involving, for example, writing, photography, drawing, performance, etc. I'm also very interested in analyzing the selfreflexivity present in these works, through which we can see connections between (its) language and thought, such as reflections over its own artistic practices, incluing the work of the writer.
