Agenor Almeida Filho

Doutor em Linguística e Língua Portuguesa pela Universidade Estadual Paulista Júlio de Mesquita Filho-UNESP-Araraquara (2011). Mestre em Educação pela Universidade Federal do Maranhão-UFMA (1992). Bacharel e Licenciado em Geografia (1986 e 1988, respectivamente) e Bacharel em Direito pela UFMA (1993). Sua atuação como advogado deu-se, principalmente, na área trabalhista, direito de família e direito municipal. Foi Prefeito Municipal de Mirinzal-MA (2001-2004). Atualmente, é Professor Titular do Departamento de Ciências Humanas e Sociais do Instituto Federal de Educação, Ciência e Tecnologia do Maranhão-IFMA, com atuação nas áreas de educação, meio ambiente, direito ambiental, direito municipal, sociologia, linguística, com ênfase em sociolinguística e dialetologia. Entre 17 de setembro de 2012 e 24 de fevereiro de 2017, exerceu o cargo de diretor de desenvolvimento institucional e a partir de 24 de fevereiro de 2017, exerceu o cargo de Diretor Executivo do IFMA, equivalente ao de Vice-reitor. Em várias oportunidades atuou no exercício da reitoria, em razão da ausência do Reitor. Exerceu o cargo de Diretor Executivo até novembro de 2020.

PhD in Linguistics and Portuguese Language from Universidade Estadual Paulista Júlio de Mesquita Filho-UNESP-Araraquara (2011). Master in Education from the Federal University of Maranhão-UFMA (1992). Bachelor's and Lic. Degree in Geography (1986 and 1988, respectively) and Bachelor's Degree in Law from UFMA (1993). His work as a lawyer was mainly in the labor area, family law and municipal law. He was municipal mayor of Mirinzal-MA (2001-2004). He is currently a full professor at the Department of Human and Social Sciences at the Federal Institute of Education, Science and Technology of Maranhão-IFMA, working in the areas of education, environment, environmental law, municipal law, sociology, linguistics, with an emphasis on sociolinguistics and dialectology. Between September 17, 2012 and February 24, 2017, he held the position of institutional development director and from February 24, 2017, he held the position of executive director of the IFMA, equivalent to that of vice-rector. On several occasions he served in the exercise of the rectory, due to the absence of the rector. He held the position of Executive Director until November 2020.
