Fernanda Alves Martins

Fernanda Alves-Martins is an ecologist interested in understanding the determinants of biodiversity at local and regional scales. In her research, Fernanda integrates and analyses data from field surveys, global biodiversity databases, and environmental information extracted from remote sensing to understand the relationships of biodiversity with its environment, and to explore how the impacts of global change on biodiversity can be predicted and mitigated. Fernanda holds a PhD on ecology and evolution from the Federal University of Goiás, Brazil (2016), where she investigated drivers of species diversity of neotropical odonate. She was a post-doctoral researcher at the Natural Science Museum (2017), and University of Alcalá (2020), both in Spain. Currently, Fernanda is part of the TROPIBIO project based in CIBIO-InBio, Portugal.

Fernanda Alves-Martins é uma ecóloga interessada em entender os determinantes da biodiversidade em escala local e regional. Em sua pesquisa, Fernanda integra e analisa dados de pesquisas de campo, bancos de dados de biodiversidade global e informações ambientais extraídas de sensoriamento remoto para entender as relações da biodiversidade com seu meio ambiente e explorar como os impactos das mudanças globais na biodiversidade podem ser previstos e mitigados. Fernanda é doutora em Ecologia e Evolução pela Universidade Federal de Goiás, Brasil (2016). Foi pesquisadora de pós-doutorado no Museu de Ciências Naturais (2017) e na Universidade de Alcalá (2020), ambos na Espanha. Atualmente, Fernanda faz parte do projeto TROPIBIO sediado no CIBIO-InBio, Portugal.
