Full Professor of the Maternal and Child Nursing and Public Health Department of the Nursing School of Ribeirão Preto (EERP/USP). Graduated in Nursing and Obstetrics at the Regional University of the Northwest of Rio Grande do Sul - UNIJUÍ. Master in Public Health Nursing from the Graduate Program in Public Health Nursing of EERP/USP, and PhD in Nursing from the PPG-Interuniversity PhD in Nursing of EERP/EE/USP. He is a post-doctoral fellow at the University of Alberta (CA). Scientific production includes scientific articles published in journals with selective editorial policy, book chapters, abstracts published in proceedings of scientific events. He has experience in training national and international human resources (post-doctoral, doctoral, master's, specialization, scientific initiation and TCC) with scholarships from different funding agencies. In undergraduate and graduate teaching, he teaches subjects related to the area of Health Policies and Primary Health Care. He is a full advisor in the PPG-Public Health Nursing and works in the research line: Practices, Knowledge and Health Policies with experience in the area of Public/Collective Health Nursing. He has worked on the themes of Primary Health Care, Health Policies, Management and Organization of the Health System, Policy Transfer, and Tuberculosis. He is a member of the Operational and Epidemiological Research Groups on Tuberculosis of EERP/USP linked to the Brazilian Tuberculosis Research Network (REDE-TB). He was coordinator of the PPG-Enfer Nursing in Public Health (2012-2018) note 7 at Capes. He led the idealization of two Inter-institutional PhD Projects (DINTER) between EERP-USP/UFMA/UESC and UNIOESTE, funded by Capes/UFMA/UESC and Fundação Itaipu/Fundação Araucária/UNIOESTE. He was Vice-President and President of the Post-Graduation Commission of EERP. He was Director of the Nursing Service of the School Health Center of FMRP/USP (Management 2020-2021), Vice-Director (Management 2018-2022) and currently Director (Management 2022-2026) of the School of Nursing of Ribeirão Preto/USP.

A produção científica inclui artigos científicos publicados em periódicos com seletiva política editorial, capítulos de livro, resumos publicados em anais de eventos científicos. Possui experiência na formação de recursos humanos nacionais e internacionais (pós-doutorado, doutorado, mestrado, especialização, iniciação científica e TCC) com bolsas de diferentes agências de fomento. No ensino de graduação e pós-Graduação ministra disciplinas vinculadas a área de Políticas e Atenção Primária a Saúde. Orientador pleno no PPG-Enfermagem em Saúde Pública e atua na linha de pesquisa: Práticas, Saberes e Políticas de Saúde com experiência na área de Enfermagem em Saúde Pública/Coletiva. Tem atuado nas temáticas da Atenção Primária à Saúde, Políticas de Saúde, Gestão e Organização do Sistema de Saúde, Transferência de Políticas, Tuberculose. Integra Grupos de Pesquisa Operacionais e Epidemiológicos em Tuberculose da EERP/USP vinculado à Rede Brasileira de Pesquisa em Tuberculose (REDE-TB). Foi coordenador do PPG-Enfermagem em Saúde Pública (2012-2018) nota 7 na Capes. Liderou a idealização de dois Projetos de Doutorado Interinstitucionais (DINTER) entre a EERP-USP/UFMA/UESC e a UNIOESTE, financiado pela Capes/ UFMA/UESC e Fundação Itaipu/Fundação Araucária/UNIOESTE. Foi Vice-Presidente e Presidente da Comissão de Pós-Graduação da EERP. Foi Diretor do Serviço de Enfermagem do Centro de Saúde Escola da FMRP/USP (Gestão 2020-2021), Vice-Diretor (Gestão 2018-2022) e atualmente Diretor (Gestão 2022-2026) da Escola de Enfermagem de Ribeirão Preto/USP.
