Grazziela Patrocinio Figueredo

Dr Grazziela Figueredo is Assistant Professor in the School of Computer Science and the Research and Innovation Lead at the Digital Research Service at The University of Nottingham. The focus of her research is the development and application of techniques for systems simulation and intelligent data analysis for safety-critical and healthcare systems. She currently holds over £1.2M in research and services rendered grants as PI and co-I, including Innovate UK Knowledge Transfer Partnership with Gleeds (PI - 250k), Knowledge Transfer Partnership with Gendius (PI 240k); road pavement impact on fuel consumption analysis for Highways England together with AECOM (co-I - 70k); confidence associated with metagenomics detection of threat agents project (co-I £136K from DSTL) and is the Co-I leading on the creation of an AI-based tool for optimisation of biomarkers panels for early detection of pancreatic cancer (£79K The Ian Harty Charitable Trust). Over the past years, she has been collaborating with the Institute of Aerospace, Materials and Manufacturing Engineering, and the EPSRC Biomaterials Discovery Programme Grant, leading on data analytics and AI research. She has worked on the Innovate UK VEDAT project led by Microlise developing solutions to achieve customer and market value from the high volumes of complex data (Big Data) generated in real-time through telematics technology. She has also collaborated with other industrial partners (Ford, AECOM, Carsift) and the Nottingham City Council, researching intelligent AI approaches to safety-risk management and intelligent mobility systems. Grazziela has published over 30 journal papers and over 35 conference papers in AI and AI applications in urban mobility, materials and healthcare research, including Science Advances, Matter, IEEE Transactions on Intelligent Transportation Systems, Sensors and the Journal of Intelligent Manufacturing.
