Luciano Palmeiro Rodrigues

He graduated in Physical Therapy from the Porto Alegre Institute of the Methodist Church (1992), specializing in Neurological Physical Therapy at the Lutheran University of Brazil (1999) and a Master's degree in Neuroscience from the Federal University of Rio Grande do Sul (2001). PhD in Neuroscience (2011) at the Federal University of Rio Grande do Sul having conducted research with experimental spinal cord injury and the use of stem cells. He is a professor of the Physical Therapy Course at the Physical Education, Physical Therapy and Dance School (ESEFID) at the Federal University of Rio Grande do Sul (UFRGS). He was professor of the Physical Therapy courses at the Centro Universitário Metodista IPA, at the Universidade Federal de Ciências da Saúde de Porto Alegre (UFCSPA) and at the Universidade Luterana do Brasil (ULBRA). Director of the Physiotherapy Clinic ESEFID/UFRGS. Assistant coordinator of the Specialization Course in Neurofunctional Physiotherapy of ESEFID/UFRGS. Member of the Núcleo Docente Estruturante (NDE) of the Physical Therapy Course at UFRGS. Coordinator of the Extension Program Rehabilitation and Neurofunctional Physiotherapy - REAFIN, which involves the projects of evaluation and guidance of patients at the Multiple Sclerosis Outpatient Clinic of HCPA and the Group of Orientation of Walking and Exercises with patients with MS at ESEFID. Coordinator of the Neurofunctional Physiotherapy Outpatient Clinic for patients with Multiple Sclerosis at the Neuroimmunology Outpatient Clinic of the Hospital de Clínica de Porto Alegre (HCPA). Physiotherapist, Specialist in Neurofunctional Physiotherapy in the Adult and Elderly by the Federal Council of Physiotherapy and Occupational Therapy (COFFITO). Has experience in the Physiotherapy field, with emphasis on neurofunctional physiotherapy and neurological rehabilitation, working mainly on the following topics: Physiotherapy in multiple sclerosis (MS) and stroke (assessment tools and treatment strategies), changes in gait in neurological patients and the International Classification of Functioning, Disability and Health (ICF).

Possui graduação em Fisioterapia pelo Instituto Porto Alegre da Igreja Metodista (1992), especialização em Fisioterapia Neurológica pela Universidade Luterana do Brasil (1999) e mestrado em Neurociências pela Universidade Federal do Rio Grande do Sul (2001). Doutorado em Neurociências (2011) na Universidade Federal do Rio Grande do Sul tendo realizado pesquisa com lesão medular experimental e o uso de células-tronco. É professor do Curso de Fisioterapia Escola de Educação Física, Fisioterapia e Dança (ESEFID) da Universidade Federal do Rio Grande do Sul (UFRGS). Foi professor dos cursos de Fisioterapia do Centro Universitário Metodista IPA, da Universidade Federal de Ciências da Saúde de Porto Alegre (UFCSPA) e da Universidade Luterana do Brasil (ULBRA). Coordenador do Programa de Extensão Reabilitação e Fisioterapia Neurofuncional - REAFIN que envolve os projetos de avaliação e orientação de pacientes no Ambulatório de Esclerose Múltipla do HCPA e do Grupo de Orientação de Caminhada e Exercícios com pacientes com EM na ESEFID. Coordenador do Ambulatório de Fisioterapia Neurofuncional para portadores de Esclerose Múltipla junto ao Ambulatório de Neuroimunologia do Hospital de Clínica de Porto Alegre (HCPA). Fisioterapeuta especialista em Fisioterapia Neurofuncional no Adulto e Idoso pelo Conselho Federal de Fisioterapia e Terapia Ocupacional (COFFITO). Tem experiência na área de Fisioterapia, com ênfase em fisioterapia neurofuncional e reabilitação neurológica, atuando principalmente nos seguintes temas: Fisioterapia na Esclerose Múltipla (instrumentos de avaliação e estratégias de tratamento),e Classificação Internacional de Funcionalidade, Incapacidade e Saúde (CIF). Pós-doutorando no Programa de Pós Graduação Mestrado em Pesquisa Clínica no Hospital de Clínicas de Porto Alegre (MPPC/HCPA)
