Currently stands as a Bioinformatics Research Officer at Leeds Omics, School of Molecular and Cell Biology, Faculty of Biological Sciences, University of Leeds, UK. Has experience in Omics, working on the following themes: Molecular Parasitology, Molecular Genetics of Microorganisms, Genomics/Metagenomics/Transcriptomics and Bioinformatics. Unix/Shell proficient and bioinformatics-driven PERL and R programmer.
EDUCATION:
Undergraduate studies: Five years bachelor's degree (BSc) in Veterinary Medicine, School of Veterinary at the Ceara State University (UECE) (stands in Brazil as a DVM), obtained in Dec/2005.
Graduate studies: Five years PhD degree on Cell and Molecular Biology at the University of Sao Paulo, School of Medicine of Ribeirao Preto, Department of Cell and Molecular Biology and Pathogenic Bioagents, obtained in Aug/2011.
Post-doc-1: two years (Jan/2013 - Dec/2014) working as a visiting/postdoc scientist at the Center for Infectious Disease Research (Seattle, WA - USA) , under the supervision of Dr. Peter J. Myler, with financial support from both CNPq (Brazilian Federal Research Council) and Dr. Myler's NIH grant.
Post-doc-2: two years (Jan/2015 - Dec/2016) developing a second postdoc research project (financial support from FAPESP) at the dept of Biochemistry, Institute of Chemistry, University of Sao Paulo (Sao Paulo, SP, Brazil), under the supervision of Dr. Sergio Verjovski-Almeida.
Post-doc-3: During Jan/2017- Jan/2019 acted as postdoctoral researcher in the College of Veterinary Medicine at the Western University of Health Sciences (Pomona, CA, USA), developing computational workflows for microbiome analyses applied to Veterinary Medicine. Also acted as a guide/tutor in Problem-based Learning (PBL) sessions for both 1st and 2nd year students at the same College.
Pesquisador (Bioinformatics Research Officer) membro do Leeds Omics, School of Molecular and Cell Biology, Faculty of Biological Sciences, University of Leeds, UK. Tem experiência no campo das Ômicas, atuando principalmente nos seguintes temas: Parasitologia Molecular, Genética Molecular e de Microorganismos, Genômica/Metagenômica/Transcriptômica e Bioinformática. Utiliza as linguagens de programação PERL e R e domina as ferramentas do Shell/Unix.
Possui graduação em Medicina Veterinária pela Universidade Estadual do Ceará (2005) e doutorado em Ciências pelo Programa de Pós-graduação em Biologia Celular e Molecular da Faculdade de Medicina de Ribeirão Preto da Universidade de São Paulo (2011). Conta com autoria e execução de dois projetos de pós-doutorado aprovados para financiamento e já concluídos: o primeiro no Center for Infectious Diseases Research (Seattle, WA, USA) (PDE-CNPq, Jan/2013 - Dez/2014) e o segundo no Depto de Bioquímica do IQ-USP (Sao Paulo, SP, Brasil) (PD-Fapesp, Fev/2015 - Jan/2017). Durante Jan/2017 - Jan/2019 desenvolveu pesquisa na Faculdade de Veterinária da Western University of Health Sciences (Pomona, CA, USA), conquistando adicionalmente uma posição paralela de tutor em sessões de ensino PBL ("Problem-based learning") para estudantes do 1º e 2º ano da mesma faculdade.
