Camila Pontes Ferreira

Doutora em ciências pelo programa de Microbiologia, Imunologia e Parasitologia da Universidade Federal de São Paulo - DMIP (Nota Capes 7). Durante o doutorado trabalhou com modelo de vacinação genética do tipo prime-boost heteróloga utilizando ASP-2 (amastigote surface protein 2) como antígeno para imunizações contra a doença de Chagas. Foi contemplada com a bolsa de estágio em pesquisa no exterior da FAPESP (BEPE) e durante um ano realizou projeto de pesquisa no departamento de Medicina na University of Massachusetts Medical School, Worcester (USA) sob a supervisão do Dr. Ricardo Gazzinelli e Dr. Douglas Golenbock. Realizou pós-doutorado na Universidade de São Paulo USP pelo departamento de Imunologia e sob supervisão do Prof. Dr. Niels Câmara, atuando com metabolismo celular e danos de DNA em modelo de lesão renal aguda. Atualmente é especialista de produtos na Merck S.A.
PhD in Science by the Microbiology, Immunology and Parasitology Program at the Federal University of São Paulo - DMIP (Note Capes 7). During his doctorate, he worked with the heterologous-boost genetic vaccination model using ASP-2 (amastigote surface protein 2) as an antigen for immunizations against Chagas disease. The main objective of the thesis was to study which chemokine and integrin molecules, the Th1 profile, are important to T lymphocytes migration during immunization and/or infection by T. cruzi. During her direct doctorate, the researcher was awarded a research internship abroad by FAPESP and during a year developed the project in the Department of Medicine at the University of Massachusetts Medical School, Worcester (USA). During the internship abroad, the principal goal was performed the RNAseq analysis of T.cruzi-infected effector CD8+ T lymphocytes. The researcher has experience in Flow Cytometry, FlowSight, Cell Sorting, ELISA, ELISPOT and other immune techniques. Strong performance in Molecular Biology such as: PCR, RT-PCR, RNAseq and Microarray techniques. In Celular Biology has extensively expertise in histological section (frozen tissues), Hematoxylin and Eosin, Immunohistochemistry and Confocal Microscopy. In addition, the research has extensive experience in Cell Culture.
