Cláudia Fontana

Holds a PhD in Biology: Diversity and Wildlife Management from the University of Vale do Rio dos Sinos (UNISINOS), a Master's degree in Environmental Engineering from the Fundação Universidade Regional de Blumenau (FURB), a Bachelor's degree in Biological Science from the University of Oeste de Santa Catarina (UNOESC), and a degree in Biology from CLARETIANO University Center. She holds a specialization in Natural Resources Management from Pontifícia Universidade Católica do Paraná (PUC-PR) and Teaching in Higher Education from Serviço Nacional de Aprendizagem Comercial (SENAC). At the Luzerna campus of the Federal Institute of Santa Catarina (IFC), she worked as a substitute professor and taught Biology and Conservation of Natural Resources from 2019 to 2020. Her expertise embraces the areas of forest ecology, restoration of degraded areas, and implementation and management of ecological trails. She is currently engaged in postdoctoral research at the University of São Paulo - Escola Superior de Agricultura Luiz de Queiroz - USP/ESALQ. Her research involves utilizing dendrochronology, X-ray densitometry, and wood anatomy to comprehend how climatic variability affects the growth of tropical and subtropical trees.
