Karl Erik Schollhammer

Karl Erik Schøllhammer é Professor Titular do Departamento de Letras da PUC-Rio. Pesquisador com bolsa de produtividade do CNPq é Cientista do Nosso Estado da Faperj (2007-2009/2013-2016/2016-2019/2019-2021). É autor, co-autor e editor de vários livros, entre eles: Linguagens da Violência (2000), Novas Epistemologias (2000), Literatura e Mídia (2002), Literatura e Cultura (2003), Literatura e Imagem (2005), Literatura e Memória (2006), Henrik Ibsen no Brasil (2008), Literatura e Critica (2009) e Literatura e Realidade(s) (2010), Atrocity Exhibition (2011), Memórias do Presente (2012), Criatividade sem Limite? (2012) e Cenários Contemporâneos da Escrita (2013), Literatura e artes na crítica contemporânea (2016), Linguagens visuais: literatura, artes, cultura (2018). De autoria integral os títulos mais recentes são Além do visível - o olhar da literatura (2007, 2016), Ficção brasileira contemporânea (2009, 2011), Cena do Crime (2013) e Affect and Realism in Contemporary Brazilian Fiction (Anthem Press 2020)

Prof. Karl Erik Schøllhammer holds an M.A. in Nordic Literature, a B.A. in Spanish Language and Literature and a Ph.D. in Semiotics and Latin American Literature from the Aarhus University (Denmark). He has taught at the Aarhus University, Aalborg University, Copenhagen University and at the Federal University of Brasília and since 1994 he is Professor of the Department of Language and Literature at the Pontifície Universidade Católica in Rio de Janeiro, where he teaches comparative literature, Brazilian Culture and Arts, Brazilian literature and literary theory. He is researcher at the Conselho Nacional de Pesquisa since 1992, and since 2007 he has received the premium stipend Cientista do Nosso Estado da Faperj several times. Director of Consortium of Advanced Studies Abroad, Regional Center Brazil, Brown University and Prodean of development and innovation at the Centre of Theology and Humanities (CTCH), PUC-Rio. From 2014 to 2018, he was Area Coordinator of Language and Literature in the state of Rio de Janeiro. Schøllhammer has published extensively on contemporary Brazilian literature and culture and translates Danish, Norwegian and Swedish authors into Portuguese. He is author or co-author of a number of books and essays. His essay Além do visível ? o olhar da literature (2007) was finalist to the Jabuti Price as Best Published Literary Essay. His last single authored books are Ficção brasileira Contemporânea (Civilização Brasileira 2009/2011), Cena do Crime - Realism and Culture in Brazil (Civilização Brasileira 2013) and Affect and Realism in Contemporary Brazilian Litterature (London, 2020).
