Abel Ribeiro de Jesus

Graduado em Engenharia Mecânica pela Escola Politécnica, Mestrado Profissional em Administração com o tema Gestão da Qualidade e Doutorado em Engenharia Industrial pela Universidade Federal da Bahia com o tema Seis Sigma. Efetuou exogenia com bolsa da CAPES na Universidade de Strathclyde, Glasgow, Escócia. A experiência profissional contempla 36 anos de Gerência na Indústria Siderúrgica e Metalúrgica de grandes empresas atuando nas áreas de projetos, manutenção e expertise de mais de 20 anos de implantação na área de Melhoria Contínua/ Gestão da Qualidade atuando principalmente nas metodologias: TQM e Lean Seis Sigma abrangendo: Gerenciamento da Rotina e das Melhorias, Planejamento Estratégico, Padronização, ISO 9001, Benchmarking, 5S, Clima Organizacional, Avaliação da Gestão, Resultados Financeiros e Prêmio Nacional da Qualidade. É Professor Associado III aposentado da Politécnica da Universidade Federal da Bahia, tendo atuado em diversos Componentes Curriculares, criado a disciplina ?Gestão da Qualidade na Engenharia? em 2003, criador e Líder do Grupo de Pesquisa do CNPQ: LIGA LEAN SEIS SIGMA e TQM no período 2013 a 2019 composto de 23 participantes - PhDs, estudantes de Doutorado, Mestrado, Graduação e Técnicos. Em 2019 esteve em Pós-Doutoramento nas Universidades de São Paulo, do Porto/Portugal e Politécnica de Milão/Itália e Hariot-Watt/Escócia, pesquisando o tema Melhoria Contínua, TQM e Lean Seis Sigma.

The professional experience includes 36 years of Management in the Steel and Metallurgical Industries acting in the areas of projects, maintenance and expertise of more than 20 years of implementation in the area of ​​Continuous Improvement / Quality Management, mainly working on the following methodologies Lean Six Sigma and TQM covering: Management of Routine and Improvement, Strategic Planning, Standardization, ISO 9001, "Benchmarking", 5S, Organizational Morale, Management Evaluation, Financial Results and National Quality Award. He is Associate Professor II of the Federal University of Bahia, acting in the Curricular Components: Quality Management in Engineering, Product Engineering, Introduction to Mechanical Engineering, Entrepreneurial Management in Engineering, among others. Creator and Leader of the CNPQ Research Group: LIGA LEAN SIX SIGMA - TQM (http://dgp.cnpq.br/dgp/espelhogroup/1558526600057323), containing 23 participants including six PhD Professors; PhD students, Masters, Graduates and Technicians. He recently completed his "Coaching" training in 2018 and in 2019 he is in Post-Doctorate at the Universities of São Paulo, Porto / Portugal and Polytechnic of Milan / Italy, researching the topic TQM and Lean Six Sigma.
