Dayane Gabriele Alves Silveira

After finishing my Undergraduate degree in Pharmacy, I have worked for a few years in the pharmaceutical industry, specifically at the point of interface between public and private for the implementation of new health technologies. That experience aroused my interested in economic issues and decision-making processes in health. In pursuit of said interests, I was approved for a masters scholarship at the medical school of the Sacred Heart Catholic University of Rome (Italy) in 2008. Undertaking that master's degree expanded my horizons by giving me the opportunity to gain knowledge of Economics and health-related sciences like Biology and Genetic Engineering, in addition to adding economic, organizational and managerial skills to my experience in the healthcare sector. Since 2011, I have worked at the Pan American Health Organization (PAHO) as a health technology assessment (HTA) advisor. At the PAHO, HTA has as one of its objectives to improve the healthcare services offered to the Brazilian population. I provide support to the National Commission for Incorporation of Health Technologies (CONITEC) of the Brazilian Ministry of Health, specifically regarding health technology reimbursement decisions, by preparing HTA rapid reviews, economic analyses and budget impact analyses. I also conduct reviews of public healthcare and healthcare investment policies. In addition, I am a member of the National Commission for Preparation and Review of Clinical Guidelines within the National Healthcare System, and a member of the The Brazilian Network for Health Technology (REBRATS), and a Global Burden of Disease study collaborator at the Health Metrics and Evaluation (IHME).

Possui graduação em FARMÁCIA pela Universidade José do Rosário Vellano (2004), mestrado em Gerenciamento Empresas Biotecnológicas-Biomédicas - Universitá Cattolica Del Sacro Cuore (2009), mestrado em Ciências da Saúde pela Universidade de Brasília (2016) e doutorado em Enfermagem e Biociências pela Universidade Federal do Estado do Rio de Janeiro (2022). Atualmente é bolsista do Instituto Nacional de Cardiologia e pesquisador - University of Washington. Tem experiência na área de Farmácia, com ênfase em Farmácia, atuando principalmente nos seguintes temas: avaliação de tecnologias em saúde, avaliação da tecnologia biomédica, pareceres técnicos em saúde, global burden of disease study e global burden of disease.
