Dalton Kei Sasaki

Dalton Kei Sasaki is a postdoctoral fellow at the Oceanographic Institute of the University of São Paulo (IO-USP), where he works with the prediction of gravity waves associated with atmospheric processes of different scales. He graduated in oceanography (2011) and completed his master's degree in physical oceanography at IO-USP (2014), when he worked with the sea surface temperature variability associated with the winds in the South Atlantic. During his PhD, concluded at the same institution ( 2019), worked with the optimization and implementation of physical processes in wave models and evaluated the wave climate associated with cyclones in the Southwest Atlantic. His main interests are the role of waves at the air-sea interface, their influence on ocean / atmospheric dynamics / thermodynamics and the predictability of extreme events in the ocean-atmosphere system with a potential impact on socio-economic activities.

Dalton Kei Sasaki é posdoutorando no Instituto Oceanográfico da Universidade de São Paulo (IO-USP), onde trabalha com a previsão de ondas de gravidade associada a processos atmosféricos de diversas escalas. Graduou-se em oceanografia (2011) e concluiu seu mestrado em oceanografia física no IO-USP (2014), quando trabalhou com a variabilidade de temperatura de superfície do mar associada aos ventos no Atlântico Sul. Durante o Doutorado, concluído na mesma instituição (2019), trabalhou com a otimização e implementação de processos físicos em modelos de ondas e avaliou do clima de ondas associado à ciclones no Atlântico Sudoeste . Seus principais interesses são o papel de ondas na interface ar-mar, sua influência sobre a dinâmica/termodinâmica oceânica/atmosférica e a previsibilidade de eventos extremos no sistema oceano-atmosfera com impacto potencial sobre atividades sócio-econômicas.
