Mauri Sérgio Alves Palma

Prof. Palma holds a Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering from the State University of Campinas (1983), master's degree in Chemical Engineering from the University of São Paulo (1991), PhD in Chemical Engineering from the University of São Paulo (2002), post-doctorate in Chemical Engineering from the University of São Paulo (2002-2004), post-doctorate at the Institute of Water Quality and Control at the Technical University of Munich (2009-2010) and Associate Professor (2019). Since 2004 is Professor of the Department of Biochemical-Pharmaceutical Technology of the School of Pharmaceutical Sciences at the University of São Paulo. Prof. Palma has extensive experience in the area of Chemical Engineering with emphasis in Chemical Reactors and Separation Operations working with the treatment of industrial effluents. Ongoing research projects deal with the transposition of the syntheses of Active Pharmaceutical Ingredients from the batch to the flow process in capillary microreactors aimed at intensifying the process, reducing costs and waste generation. Prof. Palma has technical and scientific collaboration with Prof. Bart from the Chair of Separation Science Technology at the University of Kaiserslautern, Prof. Till Opatz of the Institute of Organic Chemistry of the Johannes Gutenberg-University Mainz, and Dr. Thomas Rehm of the Fraunhofer Institute for Microengineering and Microsystems IMM, Mainz, Germany, and Prof. Agostino Cilibrizzi, Kings College, London, who visited from 7th. to 17th. 2022 for academic and technical purposes. Prof. Palma supervised 3 PhD students, one of them with dual certificate with the University of Genova, Italy and 11 MSc Students. Currently supervises 2 PhD students, 2 Post Doc and published 38 scientific papers.
