Rodolfo Enrique Izquierdo Soto

Graduated from University of Zulia, Venezuela as a Bachelor of Chemistry (2005), Magister Scientiarum in Chemistry (2009) and PhD in Chemistry (2019), Doctor Izquierdo has as research interest the Computational design of heterogeneous catalysts with application in three-way catalysts for the removal of NOx (deNOx), CO and residual hydrocarbons in mobile sources, computational modeling of NOx reaction mechanisms catalyzed by zeolites, adsorption physicochemical models that reproduce experimental values of adsorption heats for probe molecules on acidic zeolites, specific adsorption models for describing the interaction of molecules such as Ar, H2, CO, CO2, N2, O2, H2O, H2S, CH3OH, CH3SH on H-MOR (or modified H-MOR with ionic liquids), theoretical mechanisms of homogeneous catalytic reactions, specific DFT calculations for the hydroformylation of olefins with formaldehyde catalyzed by homogeneous rhodium complexes, theoretical mechanisms for organic and inorganic gas phase reactions and in silico design of new materials for the hydrogen storage and CO2 and H2S capture.
graduation at Licenciado en Química (Bachelor of Chemistry) from Universidad del Zulia (The University of Zulia) (2005) and doctorate at Doctor en Química (PhD in Chemistry) from Universidad del Zulia (The University of Zulia) (2019).
