Alex Lopes da Silva

He obtained his Bachelor in Animal Science at Universidade Federal de Viçosa in 2011. He also obtained his Masters (2013) and Ph.D. (2017) in Animal Science at Universidade Federal de Viçosa, focusing on nutrition and production of dairy cattle, as well as, nutritional requirements of cattle. Between 2017 and 2018, he assumed a Postdoctoral position at the Department of Animal Science of the Universidade Federal de Viçosa (UFV), focusing on ruminants nutrition. He worked as Professor in Dairy Cattle Production at the Institute of Animal Science of Universidade Federal Rural do Rio de Janeiro from 2018 to 2021. Since 2021, he works as Professor in Dairy Cattle Nutrition and Production at the Department of Animal Science of Universidade Federal de Viçosa. In 2020 he also worked as Visiting Professor at the Department of Animal Biosciences of the University of Guelph - Canada. Currently, he is member of the committee to development of the first version of Brazilian Nutrient Requirements System of Dairy Cattle (BR-LEITE).
