Alberto Resende De Conti

has received his degree in Electrical Engineering from the Federal University of Minas Gerais (UFMG), Brazil. In 2002 and 2006, he received his Master and Doctoral degrees in Electrical Engineering also from UFMG. In 2006, he was a guest researcher in the Division for Electricity and Lightning Research, Uppsala University, Sweden. Since 2009 he has been a full-time lecturer in the Department of Eectrical Engineering of UFMG, and member of the Graduate Program of Electrical Engineering of this institution, where his is currently Associate Professor. Since 2007 he is a research associate with the Lightning Research Center (LRC), UFMG. His research interests include electromagnetic transients in electrical power systems, modeling of power system components for high-frequency studies, lightning (power system protection and physical modeling of the phenomenon), electromagntic compatibility, power system protection, and power quality. He is author or coauthor of over 50 papers published in peeer-reviewed journals, over 100 papers presented in conferences, and author of two book chapters published by he Institution of Engineering and Technology (IET). He has been Advisor of more than 20 doctoral and master students in PPGEE/UFMG. Since 2014 he receives a scholarship for productivity from the National Council for Scientific and Technological Development (CNPq/Brazil), currently on level 1-D. Since 2015 he is a scholar of the Pesquisador Mineiro (PPM) program by the Foundation for the Support to the Researches in Minas Gerais (FAPEMIG/Brazil). He is secretary of Cigré?s Working Group 4.57, 'Guidelines for the Estimation of Overhead Distribution Line Lightning Performance and Its Application to Lightning Protection Design', member of Cigré-Brazil, and senior member of IEEE.

possui graduação (1999), mestrado (2001) e doutorado (2006) em Engenharia Elétrica pela Universidade Federal de Minas Gerais (UFMG). Em 2006, atuou como pesquisador visitante na Universidade de Uppsala, Suécia. Desde 2009 é professor em regime de dedicação exclusiva vinculado ao Departamento de Engenharia Elétrica da UFMG e membro do permanente do Programa de Pós-Graduação em Engenharia Elétrica dessa mesma instituição, ocupando atualmente a posição de Professor Associado. Desde 2007, atua como pesquisador associado ao Núcleo de Desenvolvimento Científico e Tecnológico em Descargas Atmosféricas (LRC) da UFMG. Tem experiência na área de Engenharia Elétrica, com ênfase em Sistemas de Energia, atuando principalmente nos seguintes temas: transitórios eletromagnéticos em sistemas elétricos, modelos de componentes de sistemas elétricos para estudos em altas frequências, descargas atmosféricas (proteção de sistemas elétricos e modelagem física do fenômeno), compatibilidade eletromagnética, proteção digital de sistemas elétricos e qualidade da energia. É autor ou coautor de mais de 50 artigos publicados em periódicos científicos, de mais de 100 artigos apresentados em congressos científicos, e de dois capítulos de livro publicados pelo IET (The Institution of Engineering and Technology). Tem atuado como orientador de doutorado e mestrado no PPGEE/UFMG, tendo sido responsável por mais de 20 trabalhos de pós-graduação já defendidos. É bolsista de produtividade nível do CNPq desde 2014, atualmente nível 1-D, e bolsista do programa Pesquisador Mineiro (PPM), da FAPEMIG, desde de 2015.
