Silvia López Casas
Graduated in Biology - Universidad de Antioquia (2004) and Masters in Amazon Studies - UNIVERSIDAD NACIONAL DE COLOMBIA (2007). Currently is a researcher in ichthyology - Universidad de Antioquia with Sandwich Doctorate in Universidade Estadual de Maringá (Advisor : Angelo A. Agostinho). Has experience in Zoology with an emphasis on Ichthyology, acting on the following topics: potadromous fish migrations, conservation and management of epicontinental and freshwater fish and fisheries, feeding and reproduction ecology, migratory fish, Arapaima gigas and susteinable management. Is interested in ecology, limnology and landscape ecology as important tools for understanding the interaction of spatial patterns in the dynamical processes of fish stocks, as the effects due to anthropogenic interventions such as dams and diversions.
