Maria do Socorro Baptista Barbosa

Graduated in Full Degree in Portuguese and English from the Federal University of Piauí (1982), Master in Letters (English and Corresponding Literature) from the Federal University of Santa Catarina (1996) and Ph.D. in Letters (English and Corresponding Literature) from the Federal University of Santa Catarina (2005). I was an adjunct professor at the State University of Piauí, linked to the English Language Course, from October 1989 until December 2017, when I retired. I have experience in Elementary and High School, having been an English and Portuguese teacher from 3rd to 9th grade, and an English teacher in High School. I have a technical course in Pedagogy, a Bachelor's Degree in Pedagogy, a Bachelor's Degree in History, and a Specialization in Higher Education Teaching, as well as extensive experience in Higher Education in the field of Letters, working mainly on the following topics: Literature, National Identity, Canadian Literature, Teaching, Reading and Culture, as well as Literature and other arts, especially Cinema. Possui graduação em Licenciatura Plena em Português e Inglês pela Universidade Federal do Piauí (1982), mestrado em Letras (Inglês e Literatura Correspondente) pela Universidade Federal de Santa Catarina (1996) e doutorado em Letras (Inglês e Literatura Correspondente) pela Universidade Federal de Santa Catarina (2005). Fui professora adjunta da Universidade Estadual do Piauí, vinculada ao Curso de Letras Inglês, de outubro de 1989 até dezembro de 2017, quando me aposentei. Possuo experiência nos Ensinos Fundamental e Médio, tendo sido professora de Inglês e Português do 3º ao 9º ano, e professora de Inglês no Ensino Médio. Tenho curso técnico em Pedagogia, graduação em licenciatura Plena em Pedagogia, graduação em Licenciatura Plena em História, e Especialização em Docência do Ensino Superior, além de ampla experiência no Ensino Superior na área de Letras, atuando principalmente nos seguintes temas: Literatura, Identidade Nacional, Literatura Canadense, Ensino, Leitura e Cultura, bem como Literatura e outras artes, em especial o Cinema.
