Deborah Terrell

Deborah Terrell é ativista ambiental e doutoranda no Programa de Ensino e História de Ciências da Terra no Instituto de Geociências da Universidade Estadual de Campinas/Unicamp, Atua também como colaboradora do Laboratório de Educação/LabEduc do Cepagri/Centro de Pesquisas Meteorológicas e Climáticas aplicadas à Agricultura. Sua pesquisa busca entender os desafios e as possibilidades dos professores da educação básica no Brasil no contexto da Educação em Mudanças Climáticas, em tempos de emergência climática. Seus interesses de pesquisa se concentram em tópicos como Pesquisa Interdisciplinar, Educação em Mudanças Climáticas, Justiça Climática e Educação de Professores. Anteriormente foi pesquisadora do Laboratório de Recursos Hídricos e Avaliação Geoambiental do IPT/SP atuando em projetos de avaliação de impactos ambientais nos recursos hídricos, planejamento e cartografia temática - uso e ocupação do solo e sua interação com os recursos hídricos. Entre 2015/2016 participou do projeto BINGO que avaliou os impactos das alterações climáticas no ciclo integrado da água, das águas superficiais às subterrâneas ou costeiras e promover estratégias de gestão do risco e medidas de adaptação - Programa Horizon 2020 junto ao Laboratório Nacional de Engenharia Civil - LNEC em Lisboa, Portugal.

Researcher in Education and the Environment. Bachelor and Degree in Geography from the Faculty of Philosophy, Letters and Human Sciences - FFLCH of the University of São Paulo and Master in Hydrogeology and Environment from the Geosciences Institute - IGc of the University of São Paulo. Researcher at the Technological Research Institute of the State of São Paulo - IPT, from 2005 to 2019, with experience in the field of environmental sciences and geosciences in the following topics: environmental impact assessment on water resources, planning and thematic mapping - land use and occupation and its interaction with water resources. FEHIDRO Technical Agent until 2019 to analyze Environmental Education projects aimed at the proper management of water issues, protection, defense and recovery of water bodies. Research in the area of ​​Environmental Education applied to Kindergarten at the IPT Day Care Center between 2010 and 2016. From September 2015 to January 2016, I participated in the project to assess the impacts of climate change on the water cycle - Horizon 2020 Program, at the Department of Hydraulics and Environment of the National Laboratory of Civil Engineering - LNEC in Lisbon, Portugal. Since 2010 I have been dedicated to research in the area of ​​Education with a focus on Scientific and Environmental Education and its interactions with Water and Global Climate Change.
