Flavio Luiz Vaz Vianna

Flávio Vianna is a subsea technology engineer with experience in the petroleum industry since 2001. He works as a Research Scientist of the Development and Research Center (CENPES) of PETROBRAS (Brazilian Multinational Energy Company). He has carried out research on thermal management and flow assurance in offshore production systems, development of novel tools for prediction and prevention of solid deposits in subsea equipments and non-intrusive methods for visualization and thermal image reconstruction applied to flow assurance problems. He is bachelor in Mechanical Engineer and obtained both his M.Sc. degree in mechanical engineering and his postgraduate in Petroleum Engineering at Pontifical Catholic University of Rio de Janeiro. In 2006, he began his doctoral program in the Department of Mechanical Engineering at Federal University of Rio de Janeiro, developing his Ph.D research at LTTC (Laboratory of Transmission and Technology of Heat). At this moment, he is working as visiting research scientist in the MAIDROC laboratory at FIU-Florida International University as part of an international interchange, being his research work in the following emphasis: The better understanding about thermal performance of subsea production systems and on active heating systems to control and prevent the solid deposits in pipeline systems.
É colaborador sem vínculo empregatício do Laboratório de Transmissão e Tecnologia do Calor LTTC/UFRJ e do Multidisciplinary Analysis, Inverse Design, Robust Optimization and Control Laboratory MAIDROC da Florida International University.
