Carolina Batista Israel

Postdoctoral researcher at the Universidade de São Paulo and CAPES fellowship (2021-2022). Between 2019 and 2020, she held a postdoctoral research at the Universidade Federal do Paraná (CAPES fellowship linked to the Observatório das Metrópoles). She completed her Ph.D. in Human Geography at the Universidade de São Paulo in 2019 (CNPq fellowship). She won the CAPES Thesis Award in 2020 and received an Honorable Mention at the USP Outstanding Thesis Award in the same year. Master's degree in Geography at the Universidade Federal do Paraná (2010). Graduated in geography at the Universidade Estadual Paulista Júlio de Mesquita Filho (2005). She has experience in the area of ​​Human Geography, with an emphasis on the studies of digital networks and their impacts on socio-spatial differentiation, also working with the following themes: Political Geography, Urban Geography, Teaching Geography, Geography of Communications, Internet and cyberspace. She served as a substitute professor at the Department of Teaching Theory and Practice at the Federal University of Paraná and as a teacher of Basic Education in the Paraná state network.

Professora do Departamento de Geografia da UFPR e Coordenadora do Núcleo Curitiba do Observatório das Metrópoles (INCT). Pós-doutorado pela USP (2022). Pós-doutorado pela UFPR (2020). Doutora em Geografia Humana pela USP (2019), ganhou o Prêmio CAPES de Tese em 2020 e recebeu Menção Honrosa no Prêmio Tese de Destaque USP no mesmo ano. Mestra pela UFPR (2010). Graduada em Geografia pela UNESP (2005). Tem experiência na área de Geografia Humana, com ênfase nos estudos das redes digitais e seus impactos na diferenciação socioespacial, trabalhando, ainda, com os seguintes temas: Geografia Política, Geografia Urbana, Ensino de Geografia, Geografia das Comunicações, Internet e ciberespaço.
