Humberto Fernandes is a PhD student in Sociology at the Institute of Social and Political Studies of the State University of Rio de Janeiro (IESP-UERJ). He is a researcher at the Centre for the Study of Social Theory and Latin America (NETSAL-IESP) and a guest researcher in sociology of communication and knowledge at the Academic Initiation in Popular Communication of the Fluminense University Centre (NIPEC-UNIFLU). He has courses on Regional Integration - Mercosur (Facultad de Derecho, UDELAR, 2016) and Human Rights (FGV-Online, 2013). He has a degree in International Relations from IUPERJ/UCAM (2013) and a Masters in Sociology from the University of the Republic of Uruguay (FCS-UDELAR) (2019). He is a member of the Latin American Association of Sociology, ALAS; and of the International Sociology Association, ISA. His areas of interest are sociology of knowledge, social manipulation and public opinion. He also composes songs, plays the cello, advocates for minorities, social movements, is pro-science and pantheistic.
Humberto Fernandes é Doutorando em Sociologia pelo Instituto de Estudos Sociais e Políticos da Universidade Estadual do Rio de Janeiro (IESP-UERJ). Ele é pesquisador do Núcleo de Estudos de Teoria Social e América Latina (NETSAL-IESP) e pesquisador convidado em sociologia da comunicação e do conhecimento no Núcleo de Iniciação Científica em Comunicação Popular do Centro Universitário Fluminense (NIPEC-UNIFLU). Possui cursos sobre Integração Regional - Mercosul (Facultad de Derecho, UDELAR, 2016) e Direitos Humanos (FGV-Online, 2013). É graduado em Relações Internacionais pelo IUPERJ/UCAM (2013) e mestre em Sociologia pela Universidad de la República de Uruguay (FCS-UDELAR) (2019). É membro da Associação Latinoamericana de Sociologia, ALAS; e da Associação Internacional de Sociologia, ISA. Suas áreas de interesse são sociologia do conhecimento, manipulação social e opinião pública. Ele também compõe canções, toca violoncelo, advoga pelas minorias, pelos movimentos sociais, é pró-ciência e panteísta.
