Walsan Wagner Pereira

Bacharel em Física pela Universidade Federal Fluminense (1986), Pós-Graduado em Análise de Sistemas pela Pontifícia Universidade Católica (1991), Mestre em Engenharia Nuclear e Planejamento Energético pela Universidade Federal do Rio de Janeiro (1991) e Doutor em Engenharia Nuclear pela Universidade Federal do Rio de Janeiro (1999). Atualmente, é pesquisador da Comissão Nacional de Energia Nuclear. Membro Representante Brasileiro no Comitê Consultivo para Radiações Ionizantes Seção III do BIPM. Tem experiência na área de Engenharia Nuclear, com ênfase em Aplicações de Radioisótopos, atuando principalmente nos seguintes temas: Metrologia de nêutrons, tratamento de imagens, redes neurais, método de monte carlo e morfologia matemática. Na área de ensino ministra cursos regulares de graduação em Física pela FTESM e Metrologia para a graduação em Física Médica da UFRJ. Na pós-graduação do Instituto de Radioproteção e Dosimetria é professor dos cursos de Lato Sensu e Strictu Sensu em disciplinas de Metrologia das Radiações Ionizantes e Instrumentação Nuclear.

Bachelor in Physics from the Fluminense Federal University (1986), Postgraduate in Systems Analysis from the Pontifical Catholic University (1991), Master in Nuclear Engineering and Energy Planning from the Federal University of Rio de Janeiro (1991) and PhD in Nuclear Engineering from the University Federal University of Rio de Janeiro (1999). He is currently a researcher at the National Nuclear Energy Commission. Brazilian Representative Member on the Ionizing Radiation Advisory Committee Section III of the BIPM. He has experience in Nuclear Engineering, with emphasis on Radioisotope Applications, working mainly on the following topics: neutron metrology, image processing, neural networks, monte carlo method and mathematical morphology. In the area of ​​education he teaches regular undergraduate courses in Physics by FTESM and Metrology for the graduation in Medical Physics of UFRJ. In the graduate of the Institute of Radioprotection and Dosimetry is professor of the discipline of Metrology of Ionizing Radiation.
