PVE researcher in Brazil through the Scien Without Borders Program from 2013-2016. Developing cooperative activities at both national and international levels in the areas of interest. Evaluator of electrical engineering programs in the USA for ABET/IEEE. Supervision of all Brazilian (?Ciência sem Fronteiras?) students at U W Tacoma. Drafted agreements of cooperation between the Institute of Technology/University of Washington Tacoma and some Brazilian universities, signed by the respective chancellors/presidents.Areas of expertise: Electromagnetics, Acoustics, Optics and Microwaves; Wave propagation in linear and non-linear systems; Linear Systems, Modeling and Simulation; Applied Physics and Applied Mathematics; Technology and Society, History of Technology. Current research and interest activities: Interdisciplinary: Social history of technology, with particular emphasis on the comparative development of telecommunications in Brazil and the United States. Pedagogical: Improvement of engineering education, with emphasis of attracting more students to areas that are of critical importance but not necessary popular, like those that are highly dependent on mathematics. Technical: Application of my knowledge on electromagnetic theory and acoustics to the solution of problems associated with the physical security of the wireless networks used in remote sensing of the environment and in the power grid.
