He holds a degree in Civil Engineering from the Engineering School of UFMG and a Masters in Structural Engineering from the same institution (DEES / UFMG). He holds a PhD in Geotechnics from UFOP. He is currently a Collaborating Professor at NUGEO / UFOP and Adjunct Professor IV at the Polytechnic Institute of PUC MINAS. He also works as Project Director at Consmara Engenharia. As a teacher, he created the courses of specialization in Structural Engineering and Geotechnical Engineering of PUC Minas, also acting as coordinator of the same. As a designer, he calculated various structures in reinforced concrete, from buildings (commercial, residential, shopping malls) to industrial structures such as crushers, flotation units, mill bases and vibrating screens. As a structural consultant, he has already verified several existing projects, as well as elaborated a structural reinforcement project, when necessary, acting in static and dynamic analyzes of structures, including stress analysis, fatigue, stability and vibrations. In addition, it has already developed geotechnical reports and structures for private and public initiatives. Has experience in Structural Engineering and Geotechnics, with emphasis on structural masonry, reinforced concrete, wood structures, foundation, containment structures and soil-structure interaction. Thiago also worked with research, teaching and extension.
Mineiro de Governador Valadares, é professor e pesquisador do CEFET-MG, onde desenvolve atividades de ensino, pesquisa e extensão em tópicos de Engenharia de Estruturas e Geotecnia. Bacharel em Engenharia Civil na Universidade Federal de Minas Gerais (UFMG, 2008), Mestre em Engenharia de Estruturas (PROPEEs/UFMG, 2010) e Doutor em Geotecnia (NUGEO/UFOP, 2015). Thiago Bomjardim Porto é Residente Pós Doutoral na Universidade Federal de Minas Gerais. Nos últimos anos, tem se dedicado à busca por inovações do ensino, com destaque a alternativas metodológicas para melhoria da aprendizagem.
