Thiago Fagundes Leao

Academic background includes a degree in Oceanography at the State University of Rio de Janeiro, where he worked in the areas of Geological Oceanography and completed Scientific Initiation in this area with participation in national and international Congresses. Completed a Master's Program in Ocean Engineering at COPPE / UFRJ under the Integral regime and under the guidance of Prof. Susana Beatriz Vinzón, D.Sc .; acting in the area of ​​characterization of sedimentary deposits, coastal hydrodynamics, and oceanographic instrumentation. During the Master's Program, he was awarded with a CNPq Student Scholarship from CNPQ and exchanged for a semester at the Universidad de La Republica, in Montevideo, where he addressed studies about reology of sediments in the Basin of Plata, at the Institute of Mechanics of the Fluids of the same University. One of his personal goals is to combine the interdisciplinary knowledge in the area of ​​the environment acquired in the years of dedication to the Academy, with his offshore experience in the labor market of the last 8 years (Depto Subsea E&P); and with that, start, manage and finish projects that seek excellence in sustainable development, sharing knowledge to offer innovative solutions in associations committed to economic growth in balance with the environment.

Formação acadêmica inclui Graduação em Oceanografia na Universidade do Estado do Rio de Janeiro, onde atuou nas áreas de Oceanografia Geológica e concluiu Iniciação Científica nessa mesma área com participações em Congressos nacionais e internacionais. Concluiu Programa de Mestrado na Engenharia Oceânica da COPPE/UFRJ sob regime Integral e orientação da Prof. Susana Beatriz Vinzón, D.Sc.; atuando na área de caracterização de depósitos sedimentares, hidrodinâmica costeira, e instrumentação oceanográfica. Durante o Programa de Mestrado, foi contemplado com BOLSA ALUNO NOTA DEZ do CNPQ e realizou intercâmbio de 1 semestre na Universidad de La Republica, em Montevideo, onde abordou estudos acerca de reologia de sedimentos da Bacia del Plata, no Instituto de Mecanica de los Fluidos da mesma Universidade. Tem como um dos objetivos pessoais combinar o conhecimento interdisciplinar na área de meio ambiente adquirido nos anos de dedicação à Academia, com sua experiência offshore no mercado de trabalho dos últimos 8 anos (Depto Subsea E&P); e com isso, iniciar, gerenciar e concluir projetos que busquem a excelência no desenvolvimento sustentável, compartilhando conhecimento para oferecer soluções inovadoras em organizações comprometidas com o crescimento econômico em equilíbrio com o meio ambiente.
