Andreas Hofmann

Andreas Hofmann is a Post-Doc in the Research unit Environmental Genomics of Prof. Dr. Michael Schloter at the Helmholtz Zentrum München since 2012. He is focusing on the dynamics of microbial communities involved in carbon and nitrogen turover during paddy soil evolution in relation to different soil types, which is part of the DFG ? Research Unit 995 ?Biogeochemistry of paddy soil evolution?. His main expertises are: Analysis of bacterial and fungal diversity and function in environmental samples, development and application of specific in situ and molecular biological detection methods for bacteria and fungi, PGPR, BNF, food safety, microbe-plant interactionsHe studied biology at the Technical University of Munich from 1999 to 2007 with the main subjects technical biology, zoology and microbiology. In his diploma thesis, performed in the working group of Dr. Wolfgang Ludwig at the department of microbiology of Prof. Dr. Karl - Heinz Schleifer he focused on the diversity and function of fungi during the formation of aerobic activated sludge granules in wastewater treatment plants. In his PHD-thesis, performed at the Research Unit Microbe-Plant Interactions of Prof. Dr. Anton Hartmann at the Helmholtz Zentrum Munich from 2007 - 2014, he focused on the transfer of the human pathogenic food-contaminants Listeria monocytogenes and Salmonella enterica from organic fertilizers to vegetable produce as a part of the ?PathOrganic? project: ?Risks and Recomendations Regarding Human Pathogens in Organic Vegetable Production Chains? (Core.Organic 2006-1888).
doctorate at Plant-Microbe-Interactions from Ludwig-Maximilians-Universität München (2014). Has experience in Microbiology, focusing on Microbiology
