Graduated in both Chemical Engineering and Mechanical Engineering in 2002, from University of Los Andes (Colombia). He holds a M.Sc in Process Engineering from Ecole des Mines de Nantes (France) and a M.Sc in Sustainable Energy Systems from Mälardalen University (Sweden). After, he did his PhD in hydrodynamic CFD modelling of Membrane Bioreactor at Ghent University (Belgium). Later, he did a research stay at the Federal University of Santa Catarina (Brazil) on the conception and design of a system to study two-phase flow in pipes and U-bends for the oil-gas industry. He worked as a postdoctoral researcher at the department of Civil Engineering in Aalborg University (Denmark), with main focus on hydrodynamics and CFD modelling of MBR and CFD modelling two-phase gas-non-Newtonian slug flow. Currently, he is an assistant professor at the department of Chemical Engineering at the University of Los Andes (Colombia). His research interests are in fluid mechanics, shear stress, multiphase (two-phase) flow, heat-and-mass transfer, non-Newtonian fluid behaviour (rheology) and CFD modelling.
