Prof.ª Dr.ª Emilia Rahnemay Kohlman Rabbani

Emilia Rahnemay Kohlman Rabbani has finished her Pos-doctorate work in Civil Engineering at the University of Minho (2011-2012), Doctorate in Civil Engineering at the University of Pittsburgh (2000), Masters in Civil and Environmental Engineering at the University of Pittsburgh (1998), Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering from the Federal University of Paraíba (1996), and her Bachelor's Degree in Civil and Environmental Engineering from the University of Pittsburgh (1995). She has worked as a Traffic Engineer at Midwest Research Institute in Kansas City, MO on a team of researchers in the area of transportation safety (2000-2002). She was an Assistant professor in the Department of Civil Engineering at the Federal University of Sergipe (2003-2005) and was hired as an Adjunct Professor of the Civil Engineering Department at the University of Pernambuco (UPE) in 2006, where she obtained her Tenure in 2009, was promoted to Associate Professor in 2011 and to Full Professor (Livre Docente) in 2013. Has acted, at UPE, as Head of the Graduate Division at the Polytechnic School of Pernambuco (2009-2010), Coordinator of the Civil Engineering Masters Program (2010-2011), Vice-Leader of the Ergonomics and Occupational Safety and Health research group (2008-2011), as the Cultural Section Manager of POLI (2014-2019) and as the International Relations of the Polytechnic School of Engineering (POLI) at UPE (2019-2021). She has also acted as Visiting Scholar at Technion - Israel Institute of Technology (2011-2012) and at the Construction Department of Colorado State University (since 2013), USA. Presently she acts as the representative of the Associate professors at the Academic Administration Council at POLI, coordinates the research group Safe and Sustainable Development of UPE registered at CNPq, teaches at the undergraduate level and at the Masters level in Civil Engineering at the same university, and manages the Higher Education of the Science, Technology and Innovation State Secretary of Pernambuco (SECTI PE) since march of 2021. She has experience in the Civil Engineering area, with emphasis in transportation and safety, and occupational health and safety applied to sustainable construction.

Possui pós-doutorado em Engenharia Civil pela Universidade do Minho em cooperação com Israel Institute of Technology - TECHNION (2012), doutorado em Engenharia Civil pela University of Pittsburgh, Pittsburgh, PA - USA (2000) revalidado no Brasil pela Universidade Federal do Rio de Janeiro - UFRJ (2004), mestrado em Engenharia Civil e Ambiental pela University of Pittsburgh - USA (1998), graduação em Engenharia Civil pela Universidade Federal da Paraíba - UFPB (1996) e graduação em Engenharia Civil e Ambiental pela University of Pittsburgh - USA (1995). Trabalhou como engenheira de tráfego na companhia Midwest Research Institute (MRI) fazendo parte da equipe de pesquisadores da área de segurança de trânsito na cidade de Kansas City nos Estados Unidos (2000-2002). Foi professora Adjunta Nivel I do Departamento de Engenharia Civil da Universidade Federal de Sergipe (2003-2005) e ingressou na UPE em 2006 como professora adjunta Nível III, e foi promovida a professora associada em 2011 e livre docente em 2013. Atuou como coordenadora setorial de Pós-graduação da Escola Politécnica de Pernambuco (POLI) na gestão 2009-2010, como coordenadora do Mestrado em Engenharia Civil (PEC) da POLI/UPE na gestão 2010-2011; vice-líder do grupo de pesquisa Ergonomia, Higiene e Segurança do Trabalho (2008-2011); Gerente da Seção de Cultura da Escola Politécnica de Pernambuco (2014-2019), e como Assessora de Relações Internacionais da POLI (2019-2021). Atuou como professora visitante do Technion - Israel Institute of Technology (2011-2012) no departamento de gestão da construção e como pesquisadora visitante no Colorado State University - EUA no departamento de Gestão da Construção (2013-2018). Atualmente é professora permanente do Mestrado em Engenharia Civil da UPE (desde 2007), lidera o grupo de pesquisa Desenvolvimento Seguro e Sustentável - DESS cadastrado no CNPq (desde 2013), atua como representante dos professores Associados no Conselho de Gestão Acadêmica da POLI (CGA, desde 2013) e como Gerente Geral de Formação Superior da Secretaria de Ciência, Tecnologia e Inovação de Pernambuco (SECTI PE) desde março de 2021. Tem experiência na área de Engenharia Civil, com ênfase em segurança em transportes e sustentabilidade aplicada às construções.
