Kauê Machado Costa
I'm a Visiting Fellow at the National Institute on Drug Abuse Intramural Research Program in the laboratory of Geoff Schoenbaum. I study how ventral midbrain dopamine neuron activity, and the subsequent release of dopamine in different forebrain regions, represent behaviorally relevant information and support different modes of learning. I do so by combining a variety of neural activity recording and manipulation techniques with theory-inspired behavioral tasks in freely moving rats.
