Doutora em Engenharia de Materiais (2011) pela Università Degli Studi di Trento (UniTN), Itália. Graduada em Engenharia de Materiais (2005) pela Universidade Federal de Santa Catarina (UFSC). Pesquisadora alocada no Laboratório de Biomateriais (Labiomat), do Programa de Pós Graduação de Minas, Metalúrgica e Materiais (PPGE3M), pela Universidade Federal do Rio Grande do Sul (UFRGS). Sua pesquisa, produção técnica e tecnológica estão focadas nas áreas de metalurgia e de biomateriais.
