Possui mestrado em Física - Tomsk State University (1966), doutorado em Física - Tomsk State University (1969) e livre docencia (doctor in sciences) em Física-Institute of Nuclear Physics (Novossibirsk, Russia). Atualmente é professor Sênior da Universidade de São Paulo. Tem experiência na área de Física Teorica, com ênfase em Teoria Geral de Partículas e Campos, atuando principalmente nos seguintes temas: quantum field theory with strong backgrounds; theory of constrained systems and their quantization; path integrals, group theory in relativistic quantum mechanics and field theory; semiclassical methods and coherent states; theory of two and four levels systems and applications to the quantum computation; theory of self-adjoint extensions of symmetric operators and its applications; quantum mechanics and field theory in non-commutative spaces.
