Marcelo Medeiros Arruda
I have 8 years of experience building software for oil & gas exploration, geophysical processing, and seismic interpretation. During this time I developed a great background in High-Performance Computing, 3D Rendering, Image Processing, and Computational Geophysics, working in the hole software development lifecycle (code design, implementation, test and deploy). The projects ranged from internal developments (such as a facade over a user log library, helping to reduce crashes in the program from 30% to 7%) to patented geophysical tools (allowing the company to save more than a million dollars in licenses). After some years, I began to assume part-time leadership roles, in teams from 7 to 10 people. I loved the challenge of managing my time to be a developer and a team leader. I was able to see the present and future needs of the customers, design scalable solutions for them, and develop code to deliver the best user experience (performance and ease of use).I have a passion for the startup environment. Because of this, I began to teach myself web and mobile technologies, developing apps for some companies in Brazil, since 2012. Currently, I?m earning the Full Stack Nanodegree at Udacity to master these technologies, and I've been working as a freelance software developer.I pride myself on building products that achieve great outcomes. Possui 8 anos de experiência como Engenheiro de Software. A maior parte desse tempo atuou em projetos de pesquisa e desenvolvimento para a Petrobras.Foi aluno no programa de mestrado em Informática da Pontifícia Universidade Católica do Rio de Janeiro. Área de atuação principal, Matemática aplicada, principalmente em Computação Gráfica, tendo como tema da pesquisa de mestrado modelos de iluminação para visualização volumétrica de dados sísmicos. Atuou como bolsista de mestrado no instituto TecGraf/Puc-Rio no projeto V3O2, desenvolvendo software para visualização e interpretação de dados sísmicos.
