Mila Ferraz de Oliveira Martins

Mila Ferraz de Oliveira Martins is a black Brazilian cis woman, with a bachelor's degree from the Federal University of Paraná (UFPR), a master's, and a doctorate in Biological Sciences from the Postgraduate Program in Entomology (PGENTO - UFPR). She worked for four and a half years in the field of Forest Entomology, with an emphasis on leaf-cutting ants, for the National Fund to Combat Forest Pests (FUNCEMA). During her master's degree, she worked on the diversity of ants and effects of land-use systems on subterranean ant assemblages in southern Brazil, and in her doctorate investigated their functional morphology. He is currently providing technical support at the Ant Ecology Laboratory (LEF - UFLA), where, in addition to laboratory routines, he curates the laboratory's reference collection and is responsible for incorporating this material into the Entomological Collection of the Federal University of Lavras (CEUFLA).

Mila Ferraz de Oliveira Martins é mulher cis negra, bacharela e licenciada pela Universidade Federal do Paraná (UFPR), mestra e doutora em Ciências Biológicas pelo Programa de Pós-Graduação em Entomologia (PGENTO - UFPR). Atuou, por quatro anos e meio na área de Entomologia Florestal, com ênfase em formigas cortadeiras, pelo Fundo Nacional de Combate à Pragas Florestais (FUNCEMA). Durante o mestrado trabalhou com diversidade e efeitos dos sistemas de uso do solo sob assembleias de formigas subterrâneas do Sul do Brasil e no doutorado investigou a morfologia funcional destas.Tem interesse em Entomologia como ferramenta em educação em Ciências e em Educação para Relações Étnico-raciais no ensino de Ciências. Também é brincante e batuqueira. Atuou como apoio técnico no Laboratório de Ecologia de Formigas (LEF - UFLA), onde, além das rotinas laboratoriais, realizou a curadoria da coleção referência do laboratório. Atualmente atuando no terceiro setor, fora da área de formação (atuando em CX).
