Laura Patricia Zuntini de Izarra

Laura Patricia Zuntini de Izarra graduated at Professorado Em Inglês from Instituto Particular Del Profesorado Juan XXIII (1974). She holds an MA (1988), a PhD (1995) and "Livre Docência"(2006) from Universidade de São Paulo. She did a postdoctoral research at the University of London, Institute of Latin American Studies (FAPESP2004) and was a guest Fellow Researcher at Trinity College Dublin (FAPESP 2004). She was Fellow researcher at the Institute of Adanced Studies and a guest Professor at the School of English to give a postgraduate seminar on contemporary Irish literature at Jawaharlal Nehru University (FAPESP 2013). At present, she is Full Professor at the University of São Paulo, coordinator of the WB Yeats Chair of Irish Studies (since 2009) as well as of the academic agreements of exchange between USP and various Irish Universities. She is a member of the international Board of the Research Institute An Foras Feasa (NUIM) and of the International Editorial Boards of Irish University Review (ISSN 0021-1427), of the Canadian Journal of Irish Studies and of the Review of Irish Studies in Europe (RISE) as well as of national journals. She was President of APLIESP(Associação de Professores de Inglês do Estado de São Paulo), of SILAS (Society for Irish Latin American Studies) and the Brazilian Association of Irish Studies (ABEI); she is vice-president of the executive board of IASIL (International Association for the Study of Irish Literatures) representing non-Anglophone countries. She was Associate Director at AUCANI (International and National Academic Cooperation Office; 2015-2021) and Vice-president of AUCANI (2019-2021). She is author of Mirrors and Holographic Labyrinths. The Process of an aesthetic Synthesis in the Novels of John Banville (NY & Oxford: International Scholars Publications, 1999) and Narrativas de la diáspora irlandesa bajo la Cruz del Sur (Buenos Aires: Corregidor, 2010-11). She edited various books and is co-editor of ABEI Journal- The Brazilian Journal of Irish Studies (since 9991) and of the WB Yeats Chair of Irish Studies series of books, Lectures (since 2010), of which she is coordinator since 2009. Coordinator of the Group of Research Literaturas Estrangeiras da ANPOLL (1998-2002), the Thematic Project funded by FAPESP, "Da Irlanda para o Brasil: Textos Críticos"/From Ireland to Brazil: Critical Texts" (2006-2009) and the international network projects SPeCTReSS (Social Performance, Cultural Trauma and Reestablishing Social Sovereignty, 2014-2017) and "Crises of Democracy" (2018-2019) at USP. She is the leader of the research group "Narrativas literárias e identidades nos espaços diaspóricos de língua inglesa", registered by CNPQ since 1998. Her interdisciplinary projects are in the field of postcolonial studies, Irish studies, Indian studies and theories of the diaspora; she organized various events and was co-curator of itinerant exhibitions "Roger Casement no Brasil: A Borracha, a Amazônia e o Mundo Atlântico, 1884-1916" (2010) and "Roger Casement/Silvino Santos. Viagem ao Putumayo e afluentes" (2016) in Brazil and abroad (Spain, Ireland, USA, Peru, Argentina). At present she coordinates three research projects on postcoloniality, literature of the diasporas and crises of democracy through the prism of cultural trauma and decoloniality.

Laura Patrícia Zuntini de Izarra possui Graduação em Letras em Inglês (1974) pelo Instituto Juan XXIII (Argentina), Mestrado (1989), Doutorado (1995) e Livre Docência (2006) em Letras em Estudos Lingüísticos e Literários em Inglês pela Universidade de São Paulo. Realizou Pós-Doutorado na University of London, Institute of Latin American Studies (Bolsa FAPESP 2004), foi pesquisadora visitante no Trinity College Dublin (Bolsa FAPESP 2004); professora convidada na School of English e pesquisadora do Institute of Advanced Studies da Jawaharlal Nehru University (Bolsa FAPESP 2013). Atualmente é Professora Titular da Universidade de São Paulo; coordena a Cátedra de Estudos Irlandeses W.B.Yeats (desde 2009) e os convênios de intercâmbio entre a USP e várias universidades da Irlanda. É membro do Conselho Internacional do Instituto de Pesquisa An Foras Feasa (NUI-Maynooth) e do Conselho Editorial Internacional da Irish University Review (ISSN 0021-1427), do Canadian Journal of Irish Studies e do Review of Irish Studies in Europe (RISE) , assim como de revistas acadêmicas nacionais. Foi presidente da APLIESP (Associação de Professores de Inglês do Estado de São Paulo), da Society for Irish Latin American Studies (SILAS) e da Associação Brasileira de Estudos Irlandeses (ABEI); é vice-presidente da IASIL (International Association for the Study of Irish Literatures) para os países não anglófonos. Coordenou o Grupo de Trabalho de Literaturas Estrangeiras da ANPOLL (1998-2002), o Projeto Temático da FAPESP, "Da Irlanda para o Brasil: Textos Críticos" (2006-2009) e os projetos em redes internacionais de pesquisa, SPeCTReSS (Social Performance, Cultural Trauma and Reestablishing Social Sovereignty/ 2014-2017) e "Crises of Democracy" (2018-2019). Desde 1998 é líder do grupo de pesquisa "Narrativas literárias e identidades nos espaços diaspóricos de língua inglesa", registrado no CNPQ.
