Raul Queiroz Feitosa

Possui graduação em Engenharia Eletrônica pelo Instituto Tecnológico de Aeronáutica (ITA) (1979), mestrado em Engenharia Eletrônica pelo ITA (1983), doutorado em Ciência da Computação pela Universidade de Erlangen-Nürnberg, Alemanha (1988). Concluiu estágio pós-doutoral na Universidade de Hanover, Alemanha, em 2015. Atualmente é Professor Associado do programa de pós-graduação do Departamento de Engenharia Elétrica da Pontifícia Universidade Católica do Rio de Janeiro (PUC-Rio). É membro sênior da IEEE- Geoscience and Remote Sensing Society (IEEE-GRSS) e membro da International Society of Photogrammetry and Remote Sensing (ISPRS) e da SELPER-Brasil. Foi vice-presidente da Comissão I da ISPRS entre 2016 e 2022, fundador e presidente do capítulo Brasileiro da IEEE-GRSS entre 2015 e 2017, e a partir de junho de 2022 representante Regional da ISPRS para a América Latina. Suas áreas de interesse incluem Análise de Imagens, Sensoriamento Remoto, Reconhecimento de Padrões, Biometria e Visão Computacional. Orientou cerca de três dezenas de dissertações de mestrado e uma dezena de teses de doutorado. É autor/co-autor de cerca de 60 publicações em periódicos e mais de 180, anais de eventos científicos, além de capítulos de livros.

Prof. Feitosa holds a bachelor's degree in Electronic Engineering from the Instituto Tecnológico de Aeronáutica (ITA) (1979), a Master's degree in Electronic Engineering from Aeronautics Institute of Technology (1983) and a PhD in Computer Science from the University of Erlangen-Nürnberg, Germany. He was a postdoctoral fellow at the University of Hanover, Germany from 2014 to 2015. He is currently with the Department of Electrical Engineering at the Pontifical Catholic University of Rio de Janeiro (PUC-Rio). He is a senior member of the IEEE-Geoscience and Remote Sensing Society (IEEE-GRSS) and a member of the International Society of Photogrammetry and Remote Sensing (ISPRS) and SELPER-Brasil. He served ISPRS as vice president of Commission I of (ISPRS) between 2016 and 2022 and was a founder and the first president of the Brazilian chapter of IEEE-GRSS between 2015 and 2017. Since June 2022, he has been the ISPRS regional representative for Latin America. His areas of interest include Image Analysis, Remote Sensing, Pattern Recognition, Biometrics and Computer Vision. He supervised about 35 master's dissertations and 12 doctoral theses. He is the author/co-author of about 60 papers in peer-reviewed journals and about 180 proceedings of scientific events.
