Luana Lopes Amaral

Luana Lopes Amaral is an adjunct professor at the Faculty of Languages, Literature and Linguistics (FALE) at the Federal University of Minas Gerais (UFMG), in Brazil, and is subcoordinator of the Linguistics Graduate Program. She holds a PhD in Linguistics from UFMG (2015) and held a postdoctoral position also at UFMG (2016). Se was a Fulbright visiting scholar at the Department of Linguistics at the University of New Mexico, in the United States (2022). She works in the undergraduate course in Languages in the area of Text and Discourse Linguistics and in the graduate program on Linguistic Studies in the area of Theoretical and Descriptive Linguistics. Her main research interests are the argument structure and the meaning of verbs, adopting a cognitive and constructional approach to language for the analysis of these subjects.

Luana Lopes Amaral é professora adjunta da Faculdade de Letras (FALE) da UFMG e subcoordenadora do Programa de Pós-Graduação em Estudos Linguísticos (FALE/UFMG). Possui doutorado em Linguística pela UFMG (2015) e pós-doutorado pela UFMG (2016) e pela Universidade do Novo México, nos Estados Unidos (2022). Atua na graduação em Letras na área de Linguística do Texto e do Discurso e na pós-graduação em Estudos Linguísticos na área de Linguística Teórica e Descritiva. Seus principais interesses de pesquisa são a estrutura argumental e o sentido dos verbos, adotando para a análise desses objetos uma abordagem cognitiva e construcional da linguagem.
