Maria Magdalena Arréllaga

Graduate (B.A.) in International Relations (focus on Science and Environment) and Environmental Geography from University of Texas at Austin (2014). She realized her Masters in the Post-Graduate Program in Public Policy and Sustainable Development (PPED) at the Institute of Economics of the Federal University of Rio de Janeiro (UFRJ), where she also participated as a researcher in the Group on Economics of the Environment (GEMA). She has experience working with non-governmental organizations and think tanks, such as the International Union for the Conservation of Nature (IUCN) and Fundação Getulio Vargas (FGV) Projects. She currently works as an independent visual journalist and researcher, collaborating with different outlets on the reportage of social and environmental issues in Brazil and Latin America. Her academic and professional experience lies in the areas of Communication, Journalism, International Relations, Public Policy, Environment and Development.

Possui graduação em Relações Internacionais (foco Ciência e Meio Ambiente) e em Geografia da University of Texas at Austin (2014). Realizou o Mestrado no Programa de Pós-Graduação em Política Pública, Estratégias e Desenvolvimento (PPED) do Instituto de Economia na UFRJ, onde também participou como pesquisadora no Grupo de Economia do Meio Ambiente (GEMA) no Instituto de Economia. Ela tem experiência trabalhando como consultora para diversas organizações e think tanks, como a International Union for the Conservation of Nature (IUCN) e Fundação Getúlio Vargas (FGV) Projetos. Atualmente trabalha como jornalista visual, pesquisadora e comunicadora independente, colaborando com diversos meios na cobertura de temas sociais e ambientais no Brasil e na América Latina. Ela tem experiência acadêmica e profissional nas áreas de Comunicação, Jornalismo, Relações Internacionais, Políticas Públicas, Desenvolvimento e Meio Ambiente.
