Lucinéia Heloisa Thom is Level IV Adjunct Professor in the Department of Applied Informatics with the Institute of Informatics at Federal University of Rio Grande do Sul (INF-UFRGS). She Graduate Program in Computing at INF-UFRGS. From 2018 to 2019 she was a visiting researcher at Wirtschaftsuniversität Wien - Vienna, through the CAPES Program Visiting Professor abroad. From 2013 to 2016 she was an institutional representative at the Brazilian Computer Society. She holds a bachelor's degree in Computer Science from the University of Santa Cruz do Sul (1999), a master's degree in Computer Science from UFRGS (2002) and a PhD in Computer Science from UFRGS (2006). From 2004 to 2005, she developed part of her doctorate at the Institute for Distributed and Parallel Systems at University of Stuttgart (Germany). From 2007 to 2009, she was a research scientist with the Institute of Database and Information Systems at University of Ulm (Germany). From 2010 to 2011, she was a research scientist at Joseph Fourier University (France). From 2011 to 2012 she was a research scientist at INF-UFRGS, through the CAPES / PNPD program. Her research interest is in the area of Business Process Management with emphasis on transforming business models into execution models, extracting process models from natural language text and updating business process models. In this area she has several published articles. She serves as a reviewer for national and international journals and participates in several program committees in her research area. She coordinated the CAPES / SticAmSud project - Ontological Modeling of Business Processes (2014 - 2015) and participated as a member of the Universal project team - Adaptive recommendation for smart cities (2017 - 2019) and ProWAP (CAPES Postdoctoral Program Abroad) (2007?2009). In 2015 and 2016, respectively, she participated in the organization of the First and Second Latin American Schools in Business Process Management. In 2020, she rganized the First Workshop on Academia Atende Indústria in Information Systems Engineering (AMISE 2020).
Sou Professora Associada, nível 2, no Departamento de Informática Aplicada do Instituto de Informática (INF) da Universidade Federal do Rio Grande do Sul (UFRGS). Sou vinculada ao Programa de Pós-Graduação em Computação do INF-UFRGS. Sou membro da Comissão de Pesquisa (COMPESQ) do INF-UFRGS e do Colegiado do departamento de Informática Aplicada do INF-UFRGS. De 2013 a 2016 fui representante institucional na Sociedade Brasileira de Computação (SBC). De 2017 a 2020 fui coordenadora suplente do Núcleo de Avaliação do Instituto de Informática (NAU) da UFRGS. De 2018 a 2019 estive em ano sabático na Universidade de Economia e Negócios (Viena, Áustria), através do programa Capes Professor Visitante no Exterior Junior. Em 1999 obtive o título de Bacharel em Ciência da Computação pela Universidade de Santa Cruz do Sul (UNISC) e títulos de mestre (2002) e doutora (2006) em Ciências da Computação pelo INF-UFRGS. De 2004 a 2005 realizei parte do curso de doutorado no Instituto de Sistemas Distribuídos e Paralelos da Universidade de Stuttgart (Alemanha). De 2007 a 2009 realizei pós-doutorado no Instituto de Banco de Dados e Sistemas de Informação da Universidade de Ulm (Alemanha). De 2010 a 2011 realizei pós-doutorado na Universidade Joseph Fourier (França). De 2011 a 2012 realizei pós-doutorado no INF-UFRGS, através do programa CAPES/PNPD. Minha área de pesquisa é Gerenciamento de Processos de Negócio (Business Process Management -- BPM). Nesta área tenho mais de 80 artigos científicos publicados. Atuo como revisora de periódicos nacionais e internacionais, além de participar de diversos comitês de programa na área de BPM. Coordenei o projeto CAPES/SticAmSud - Modelagem Ontológica de Processos de Negócio (2014 - 2015). Fui coorganizadora do Workshop on Academy Meets Industry in Information System Engineering (AMISE 2020, AMISE 2021 e AMISE 2022) e em 2020 fui editora convidada da Edição Especial em Gerenciamento de Processos de Negócio da Revista de Informática Teórica e Aplicada (RITA).
