Mateus Rodrigues de Vargas

I am a Ph.D. student at the University of Cergy-Paris. I hold a master's degree in regional geology from UnB (2019/1) and B.S. in geology from UNISINOS-RS (2016/2). I am currently researching, by using subsurface geology methods, the geological evolution of the NE portion of the South China Sea and its impact on the Taiwan orogeny. I have already worked on the tectonostratigraphic evolution of the Paleozoic basins of SW Gondwana and the eastern Brazilian margin (Pelotas and Santos basins). I also studied the petrography of continental remnants of Maurice Ewing Bank (DSDP Site 330), Cape Meredith Complex (Falkland-Malvinas Islands), and Agulhas Plateau (the eastern portion of South Africa's offshore).

Sou estudante de Ph.D. em geologia na Universidade de Cergy-Paris, mestre em geologia regional pela UnB (2019/1) e geólogo pela UNISINOS-RS (2016/2). Atualmente pesquiso, através do mapeamento de subsuperfície, a evolução geológica do nordeste do Mar do Sul da China e como impactou a Orogenia Taiwan. Além disso, possuo experiência na evolução tectono-estratigráfica de bacias Paleozoicas do SW Gondwana e a das bacias da margem leste brasileira (Pelotas e Santos). Também estudei a petrografia de remanescentes continentais de Maurice Ewing Bank (DSDP Sítio 330), Cape Meredith Complex (Ilhas Falkland-Malvinas) e Platô de Agulhas (porção leste do offshore da África do Sul).
