Graduado em Direito pela Universidade de São Paulo (BA USP 1991). Mestre em Direito pela University of Cambridge (LL.M Cantab 1996). Doutor em Direito pela Universidade de São Paulo (Ph.D USP 2001). É sócio de Pinheiro Neto Advogados desde 2001. Possui experiência nacional e internacional com atuação na área de direito da construção e contratos de engenharia - especialmente o uso dos contratos-padrão FIDIC -, project finance e contratos públicos, gerenciamento de crises, bem como em processos de arbitragem, mediação e dispute boards. Ele é membro fundador e fellow da International Academy of Construction Lawyers (FIACL) e diretor do Latin American & Caribbean Users' Council for the London Court of International Arbitration (LCIA). Ele é o presidente da Sociedade Brasileira de Direito da Construção (SCL Brasil), ex-presidente da Região 2 da Dispute Resolution Board Foundation (DRBF) e officer do International Bar Association's International Construction Projects Committee (ICP IBA). Ele também é fellow do Chartered Institute of Arbitrators (FCIArb) e diretor jurídico da Associação Brasileira de Consultores de Engenharia (ABCE), co-coordenador do grupo de trabalho do Comitê Brasileiro de Arbitragem (CBAr) que trata de arbitragem em contratos de infraestrutura, membro fundador do conselho da International Construction Law Association (ICLA), membro da Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors (MRICS), do Instituto Brasileiro de Direito Processual Civil (IBDP) e do Centro de Estudos Avançados de Processo (CEAPRO). Ele representa algumas das maiores organizações do mundo (proprietários, agências multilaterais, instituições financeiras, empreiteiras e incorporadoras) em projetos globais de infraestrutura e construção no Brasil, no resto da América Latina e na África. Ele auxilia clientes em todo o espectro do projeto, incluindo instalações de gás, usinas de energia (nuclear, carvão, gás, ciclo combinado e hidrelétrica), parques eólicos, instalações de fabricação de aço, instalações de mineração de cobre, instalações de mineração de carvão e portos.
